Product Description List
All our herbs are indigenous to the Cederberg area and harvested on our Cederberg farm mountain areas and organic gardens. We water the gardens with mountain spring water, and the mountain air carries the scent of fragrant mountain herbs. The gardens are grown on principles of healthy soil biology to ensure a full range of botanical compounds. I have never added chemicals, compost, fertilizers to the gardens since it was started six years ago and all the herbs are grown to emulate nature, no monocultures, row planting or ploughing. The herbal gardens allow us to produce high-quality herbs without depleting plants in the wild or cause unsustainable harvesting.
We believe that all products we use in the household, teas, cosmetics, incense, smoke mixes should be chemical-free and safe to ingest. From this belief came our ‘Everything mix’ which is a herbal smoke mix, fragrance and can be drunk as a tea to relieve nasal congestion and cold symptoms.
- HERBAL TEAS
Herbal teas are a gentle way for us to take the full botanicals of plants in low dosages but high effectiveness. Homoeopathic medicine has shown us that an intense application of plants is not how the body necessary to maintain good health. I don’t find comfort with extracting that which is considered the active ingredients of a plant. With teas, we receive the full intelligence and complex botanicals of plants. Whole plant medicine trust in the full range of plant botanicals as a supporting and healing avenue for our entire bodies. In teas, we can also blend and pair plants that work together and add other for taste (such as buchu) and warmth (spices). Our packaging ensures the leaves will stay fresh for long. We also sell our teas as loose leaves to avoid the packaging into sachets which contain plastics and bleach agents.
The dosage is one teaspoon of leaves per cup steeped for 5 minutes in water no hotter than 65 degrees. I normally switch off my kettle just as the first bubble of the boiling process popped up.
Please start the teas slowly, with half a cup in the morning and evening and see how your body reacts. Increase the dose to full cup mornings and evenings but limit the intake to one cup at a time. Herbs are medicines and can build up in our system as well as detoxify your body which can have the side effect of nausea or diarrhoea. Stop if your body feels uncomfortable.
